A LUCKY TIGER ON HOLIDAY
This painting has been inspired by the drawing of a yellow tiger of Naipran, the younger brother who has Autism. Before it has become the subject of the painting, the tiger was transformed into a papier maché sculpture by Yaipoeng, the big sister, with one simple reason – to make her brother proud of himself by showing him that his creation can be much more than sketches on a scrap. The siblings call this tiger ‘A Lucky Tiger’ and they see it as a remarkable symbol of Naipran’s artistic development.
VIVID ROOM
The painting is made in the Summer, 2019. We arranged colourful still-lives in our studio from which we produce the acrylic painting together. The flowers blooming in the room makes us feel even more lively than ever in the warm summer break.
INSIDE THE STUDIO
In the original painting, the small canvases are arranged to form a big painting with some spaces left across the work. The composition represents the relationship between two life conditions that are bonded. A big sister working with a little brother who has Autism might not sound like a perfect situation to create art, but it is special. It shows that the value of art is not always about complete works, but it is also about processes – the time and the way we spend working on art together as duo (siblings) artists.
